Description

This site is considered to be a natural park and it has a series of caves, one of the most important cave is El Encanto” with an underground river and with a waterfall that descends in a wall covered by moss and fern. This waterfall is the starting point of the tour in the Cañon Rio La Venta (Cannon River La Venta).

Weather

Sub-humid hot weather to humid warm weather depending on the zone; the rainfall season is from June to October, and the warmest months are May and June.

It is located in the Ocozocoautla de Espinos municipality, in the Central Region of the state.

How to get there?

Taking the federal road No. 190, 16 kms from the city of Ocozocoautla a 3km. detour is found that leads towards the waterfall.

Walking, flora and fauna sightseeing, and landscape sightseeing. Travel hints: A pick-up car is needed because of the type of road, you need to be in good physical shape because you have to go down 800 steps to get to the waterfall; you need to carry drinkable water and comfortable clothing and shoes for long walks.
