Sumidero Canyon National Park
Regional Museum
One of Mexico's most spectacular places and with deep meaning to the Chiapanese people. The interest not only resides in its geological formation but also with the flora and fauna found there. It's length varies from 13 to 22km, its width goes from 200m above the water level to 2km on the highest point. Its maximum height used to be up to 1400m, but after the construction of the Manuel Moreno Torres dam with the subsequent rising of the water level, its truly said that the maximum height of the walls hardly is above 800m.
