Description

The reserve has 144,868 hectare of great rich biotic, between bar hole and estuaries interconnected to the Pacific Ocean. Tulares zapotonales and manglares, considered the highest of the American Pacific can be observed.

In this reservation is the turtle camp La Concepción, where the Golfina, Carey and Laúd turtles are monitored and protected surveyed and kept these endangered species.

Hot, humid and heavy rains all year.

Location

Municipalities of Pijijiapan, Mapastepec, Acapetahua, Huixtla, Villa Comaltitlán and Mazatán in the Soconusco region.

How to get there?

The main access from Tapachula taking the Federal highway 200 in a lap of 62 Km to Escuintla; from there to a Acapetahua, a lap of 17 Km by the state’s highway to the Las Garzas Boat board, where boats can be taken to La Concepción camp.

What to do?

Boat navigation, flora and fauna observation, forest walking, camping, swimming, bird observation.

Travel hints

Before programming your trip it is necessary to ask for a permit to Dirección de la Reserva. This place can be visited all year. It is suggested to bring adequate clothing and shoes for long walks, repellent, bird guidance book, binoculars. Raincoat for the rainy season.
