From Mapastepec, 15 Km of ground road to El Paval and then a pathway, that requires good physical condition, the reservation
El Triunfo is met. Humidity, low temperature, an exuberant vegetation always green, copious ferns, lianas and moss are some features
of the fog jungle; an almost unreal scenario of always dripping leaves due to the clouds nibbling the grass.
The extraordinary beautiful
arborescent ferns overlap from the plants and the pavón and quetzal from the animals. The pavón lives only on the highest peaks of the
Sierra Madre of Chiapas or the neighbor Guatemala mountains.
In high places, semi hot humid, heavy rains during summer, and in low places, hot sub humid with heavy rains in summer.
Frailesca, Soconusco e Istmo-Costa, en los municipios de Villacorzo, Mapastepec, Pijijiapan, Siltepec, Acacoyagua, La Concordia y Montecristo de Guerrero regions.
From Tuxtla Gutiérrez to Ángel Albino Corzo there are 159 Km via Suchiapa through state highway 157, after there are 41 Km of ground road to get from the reservation camp.
Flora and fauna observation, forest walking, bird observation.
It can be visited mainly in spring and winter season, but it is suggested to ask for a permit to the Comisión Nacional de Áreas
