Description

Ancient Tzetzal village, one of the subjects to the crown since 1524, at the XVII Century, when people fell down probably due to epidemics, although the legend attributes it to idolatrous practice that people followed up to colony.

presently ruined, was built after 1557, as fifth Convent of los dominicos de San Vicente de Chiapa and Guatemala; it keeps the original architectural style; frontispiece is a local Renaissance design from Italy to Spain, and then brought to Mexico; it is one of the most important monuments of Chiapas State.

110 Km from Tuxtla Gutiérrez, on Federal Highway to Central Hidroeléctrica Belisario Domínguez and then to 101 Highway, 5 Km to San Francisco Pujiltic in a deviation to the place.
